A tasting report filed today on winespectator.com featured 13 top-ranked California Cabernet Sauvignons representing vintages from 2008 to 2006. Two Sebastiani wines stood out: the Cabernet-based, Bordeaux-inspired Sebastiani Secolo Sonoma County 2007 (score 92, price $35) and the Sebastiani Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma County 2007 (score 87, price $18). The latter was the best value on the list, along with Sonoma County brand Geyser Peak Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley 2007 (score 87, price $18). The remaining wines were from Napa, including Round Pond Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford 2008 (score 91, price $50).
