• The Wine Institute trade organization has named Wine Group LLC CEO David Kent chairman for the 2011-2012 fiscal year. Kent succeeds Tom Klein of Rodney Strong Vineyards, who began serving his one-year term in June 2010. Following 20 years with E&J Gallo, Kent first joined the Wine Group—the world’s third-largest wine marketer by volume—in 2000 and has served as CEO of the company since 2001.

• Vision Wine & Spirits has partnered with Italy’s Bellenda to become the exclusive U.S. importer for the group’s DOCG Prosecco range, effective immediately. Bellenda is the 14th brand to join Vision’s imported wine collection, which specializes in wines from Chile, Germany, Italy, Portugal and Spain.
