M.S. Walker Acquires 15 Value Brands From White Rock, Adding More Than 400,000 Cases In Sales
July 21, 2011M.S. Walker, Inc., one of New England’s leading spirits and wine distributors, has strengthened its supplier credentials with the acquisition of 15 value-priced spirits brands from White Rock Distilleries that collectively sell more than 400,000 cases annually. Effective August 1, Somerville, Massachusetts-based M.S. Walker will assume ownership and marketing rights to such brands as Orloff Vodka (with annual sales of around 140,000 cases), Zhenka Vodka (70,000 cases), the Jenkins range (50,000 cases) and Poland Springs Vodka (nearly 40,000 cases), among others. “This will establish our role as one of the leading value brand producers on the East Coast,” said Harvey Allen, president of M.S. Walker, Inc.
“Many of these brands are very strong in their markets, from Maine to Ohio,” added Michael Brody, vice president of sales and marketing. “Orloff vodka is the number-one selling vodka in Maine, and Zhenka is one of the top-selling spirits brands in New Hampshire.” The addition of the 15 White Rock brands adds to an M.S. Walker portfolio that includes such offerings as Allen’s, Rubinoff, Caldwell’s, S.S. Pierce, Ron Roberto, Old Mexico, Integre, Copley and Old New England Egg Nog.
The deal will push Walker’s portfolio past the million-case mark, according to Brody. Along with the aforementioned brands, Walker is also acquiring the Baroca, Chymes, Graves, Hampshire, Gold Crown, Canadian Regal, Bolero, Maroff, McGregor, Ron Virgin and Vanya brands from the Lewiston, Maine-based White Rock.
