Gallo To Boost Capacity And Add Grape Grower Contracts

November 21, 2011

With the U.S. wine market expected to continue expanding, E&J Gallo Winery has unveiled plans to ramp up its capacity and add new grape grower contracts. Company President Joseph Gallo made the announcement at a recent San Joaquin Valley Winegrowers Association forum in Fresno.

In addition to boosting capacity at the company’s existing plants in Modesto, Livingston and Fresno, Gallo plans to secure new deals with grape growers to supply 10,000 acres of additional wine grapes in the coming years. Gallo predicted that U.S. wine sales will continue their upward growth trend, driven in part by a growing demographic of millennial and young LDA consumers.
