Del Frisco’s Looks To Expand Its New Casual Concept
November 29, 2011Texas-based Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group has its sights set on expansion of its small, casual Del Frisco’s Grille brand following its August debut in New York and a recent launch in Dallas. The company plans to add Del Frisco’s Grille locations in Phoenix, Arizona and Washington, D.C., and is also close to signing a lease in at least one other unnamed city.
Del Frisco’s Grille is a more casual, bar-focused version of the nine-unit Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse. All the Del Frisco’s Grille locations are about 7,500-8,500 square feet—roughly half the size of the original Del Frisco’s restaurants. The Dallas venue features two bars, and the New York location offers 700 wines (including 22 by the glass) as well as beer on tap. Indeed, the idea is for each Del Frisco’s Grille to be “wine-centric,” said company chief executive Mark Mednansky.
Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group also operates 20 Sullivan’s Steakhouse restaurants.
