•Chicago-based Wirtz Beverage Group has announced new roles for two of its senior executives, effective immediately. Danny Wirtz, previously vice president of sales and marketing, has been appointed senior vice president, overseeing the corporate team and expanding on his role in directing supplier relations. He replaces Ed Callison, who will move to the newly created position of executive vice president, leading Wirtz Beverage’s growth strategy with a focus on strategic partnerships, investments and long-term supplier relations. Both will report directly to Wirtz Beverage Group president Rocky Wirtz.
•Direct sales services provider WineDirect has acquired e-commerce and digital marketing platform Vin65 for an undisclosed sum. The deal is expected to bolster WineDirect’s online sales and marketing, club processing and customer management components. Vin65 founder Andrew Kamphuis will join the WineDirect team and oversee all e-commerce operations. British Columbia-based Vin65—which provides e-commerce support to wineries and retailers throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe and Asia—has served as WineDirect’s e-commerce hosting platform since June 2010. Headquartered in Napa, WineDirect specializes in providing wineries with the technology, logistics and strategies needed to enter direct-to-consumer channels.
•The Edrington Group’s single malt Scotch brand The Macallan has announced the third iteration of its Masters of Photography series. The latest installment in the series features four limited-edition single-cask Macallan expressions, each of which is paired with one of four prints taken by renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz. Only 1,000 Masters of Photography bottles will be released worldwide, priced at $2,750 each. The series launch will be accompanied by a world tour celebration, which will make stops in Hong Kong and Moscow before culminating with multiple events in New York City in October. Previous Masters of Photography releases have included work by photographers Rankin and Albert Watson.
