Bacardi rum is rolling out two flavor extensions—Wolf Berry, a blend of blueberry and wolf (or goji) berry, and Black Razz, a mix of raspberry and black sapote. Both will be priced at $14.99 a 750-ml. Along with the new products, Bacardi is also releasing new packaging, including temperature- and light-activated bottles. When chilled, the Wolf Berry bottle shows a red claw mark across the label and Black Razz shows a large red berry logo. Bacardi is supporting the product launch with a multimillion-dollar campaign that focuses on sampling in the on-premise and advertising in key markets.

•Spec’s is reportedly set to open its second location in Dallas by the end of the month. According to Dallas’s Pegasus News, the retailer will open a new unit in a former Blockbuster Video location in North Dallas that is approximately 10,000 square feet. Spec’s opened its first Dallas-area store at 9500 North Central Expressway in December. Competitors Total Wine & More and Trader Joe’s have also been targeting the area for expansion.

Pernod Ricard’s Chivas Brothers unit has released a limited-edition Beefeater Inside London bottle. Created to commemorate a year with many significant events happening in the city—including The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the Olympics—the bottle is completely covered in the capital’s iconic pillar-box red with a transparent silhouette of Beefeater’s famous Yeoman Warder and an inner layer of colors, images and contemporary figures. The Inside London bottle is available now through the end of 2012 in more than 25 key markets. Beefeater’s U.S. volume was flat at 510,000 nine-liter cases in 2011, according to Impact Databank.

•Sharon, Pennsylvania-based Quaker Steak & Lube has announced plans to expand its presence in Colorado with new restaurants in Denver and Colorado Springs. The chain currently has one franchised outpost in Denver, and company executives will be meeting with potential franchisees in Denver and Colorado Springs throughout June to ink deals for the new restaurants. Founded in 1974, Quaker Steak & Lube currently has 50 restaurants in 15 states and Canada, with plans to open 12 new units this year in New Jersey, New York, New England, North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky, Virginia, North Dakota, South Dakota and Texas.
