MillerCoors has acquired Michigan Brewing Co.’s brands and equipment at a recent auction at MBC’s Webberville brewery. “Given the rapid expansion of a number of Tenth and Blake brands, we decided an asset purchase would provide us with added small batch flexibility moving forward,” said MillerCoors spokesman Pete Marino. He added that the company hasn’t yet formulated plans for the newly acquired brands. Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed. MillerCoors did not acquire the Webberville brewing facility. The auction was held to satisfy a debt owed by Michigan Brewing Co. to a Detroit-area creditor. MBC brands included Mackinac Pale Ale, Sunset Amber Lager and Nut Brown Ale, among others.
