•Tickets for the 2012 Great American Beer Festival go on sale on July 31 for Brewers Association and American Homebrewers Association members and on August 2 for the general public. Presented by the Brewers Association, the festival is expected to attract hundreds of brewers and some 50,000 attendees to Denver’s Colorado Convention Center for its three-day run from October 11-13.

•Portland, Oregon-based Widmer Brothers Brewing has unveiled two new limited edition summer seasonals—Shaddock IPA and Marionberry Hibiscus Gose. The fifth expression in Widmer’s Rotator IPA series, Shaddock IPA (6.2% abv) is brewed with grapefruit peel and Citra hops, available on draught and in six-packs and 12-packs at select retailers. A spin on a traditional cloudy German-style wheat beer, Marionberry Hibiscus Gose (5.5% abv) is made with Oregon-grown Marionberries and dried hibiscus flowers. Marionberry Hibiscus Gose is the latest release in Widmer’s Series 924 range, and is available on draught and in 22-ounce bottles and 12-ounce bottle four packs.

•Brooklyn-based cocktail bitters specialists Bittermens are set to introduce New Orleans Coffee Liqueur at the upcoming Tales of the Cocktail event in New Orleans July 25-29. Billed as a not-too-sweet rendition of coffee liqueur, the new offering is made from coffee beans specifically roasted for Bittermens, and accented with roasted French chicory, organic cacao and vanilla. New Orleans Coffee Liqueur will be available in Louisiana and New York immediately following Tales of the Cocktail, with other markets to follow. The Bittermens line is part of The Vintner Group’s American Still Life Collection of craft spirits.
