•Cocktail authority Dale DeGroff is launching his own brand of cocktail bitters. The new label, Dale DeGroff’s Pimento Aromatic Bitters, was created by DeGroff and distiller Ted Breaux and will be available online in September for $10 a 150-ml. bottle. DeGroff told the New York Times the Pimento Aromatic Bitters are an attempt to replicate the flavor profile of a discontinued spicy liqueur called Pimento Dram, which was produced by J. Wray & Nephew before disappearing in the mid-1980s.

•Providence, Rhode Island’s Narragansett Brewing Co. is rolling out a limited edition retro-style can for its flagship Narragansett lager. The retro packaging, identical to the brand’s look in the mid-1970s when it sold 1.7 million barrels a year (and was featured in the movie “Jaws”), will be available in 18-packs for $13.99-$14.99. Narragansett currently has distribution in New England, eastern Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, North Carolina and Florida.
