•Hawaii’s Kona Brewing Co. is adding Big Wave Golden Ale to its mainland U.S. portfolio as a year-round offering. Starting August 13, the 4.4%-abv ale will be available in six-packs in all 30 of Kona’s mainland markets and on draft in California and Florida, with additional markets receiving draft in early 2013. Big Wave—which was previously only available in Hawaii—joins Kona’s flagship Longboard Island Lager, Fire Rock Pale Ale and a trio of Aloha Series seasonals (Pipeline Porter, Koko Brown Ale and Wailua Wheat) in its mainland portfolio. Kona Brewing Co. is part of the Craft Brew Alliance (CBA), which was formed in 2008 through a merger of Portland, Oregon’s Widmer Brothers Brewing and Seattle’s Redhook Brewing.
