E&J Gallo is set to purchase Central California winery Courtside Cellars for an undisclosed sum. Expected to close next week, the deal will include 34 acres and Courtside’s San Miguel-based winery, which has the capacity to crush 60,000 tons of grapes. According to Roger Nabedian, senior vice president and general manager of Gallo’s Premium Wine Division, the Central California region remains “a key part of our premium wine strategy moving forward.” Gallo’s other Central California wineries include Brindlewood Estate in the Santa Ynez Valley and Edna Valley Vineyards, which was acquired last year.Subscribe to Shanken News Daily’s Email Newsletter, delivered to your inbox each morning.
