Exclusive: Trinchero Adds To Spirits Stable With Tres Agaves

August 20, 2012

After opening a new spirits unit, TNS Brands, last month, Trinchero Family Estates is set to add a new spirits brand to its roster, Tres Agaves Tequila. TNS will handle sales and marketing for the Tres Agaves line, which includes 100%-agave Blanco ($27.99 a 750-ml. bottle), Reposado ($32.99) and Añejo ($37.99) expressions as well as agave nectar ($10.99), organic Margarita mix ($9.99) and a Bloody Maria mix ($9.99) created specifically for Tequila.

Tres Agaves was founded by restaurateur Eric Rubin and former Cabo Wabo president Barry Augus in 2005 through their Tres Agaves Mexican Kitchen & Tequila Lounge. In 2008, the partners transitioned out of the restaurant business to concentrate on the Tres Agaves Tequila brand, produced at Jalisco boutique distillery El Llano, which dates to 1900. Trinchero opened its TNS unit with its first spirits brand, Cruz Tequila—including Silver ($45) and Reposado ($53) variants—on July 24. Tres Agaves will give the portfolio a presence at a slightly lower price tier within Tequila.
