September 27, 2012Charmer Sunbelt Group has agreed to acquire the remaining 50% of Virginia’s Associated Distributors that it didn’t already own from Associated partners D.J. “Jimmy” Rogers and his sister and business partner Lynn Rogers. The parties expect the deal to close by the end of November. The price wasn’t disclosed. Following Charmer’s full acquisition of the group, Associated Distributors will continue to be managed locally by president Danny Tomlin and COO Dale Farino.
Charmer acquired its initial interest in Associated in 2006. In 2010, Associated significantly expanded its geographic footprint with the purchase of Virginia Distributing Company. Associated is expected to have 2012 revenues from its wine wholesaling business of $120 million, in line with the prior year, according to Shanken’s Impact Newsletter. In addition, the company serves as a spirits broker in the control state.
