MGM Unveils Plans For Major Las Vegas Revamp
April 19, 2013In Las Vegas, MGM Resorts International has announced details of a plan to revamp its New York-New York and Monte Carlo hotel-casinos and build a 20,000-seat arena in partnership with sports facilities group AEG.
New York-New York will have new patio areas and new retailers, and the Monte Carlo will have its current exterior removed to make way for new restaurants, including Double Barrel, a roadhouse brand from hospitality group SBE.
Between the two properties and leading to the new arena will be an outdoor park area featuring dining pavilions and performance areas, as well as an outpost of Danny Meyer’s Shake Shack burger chain. Construction will begin in the coming weeks and is slated for completion in early 2014.
