Exclusive: Terlato Wines Adds Marnier Cognac To Spirits Range
September 9, 2013Terlato Wines is set to expand its recently formed Artisan Spirits portfolio with the addition of Marnier XO Cognac through a long-term deal with brand owner Marnier-Lapostolle, Inc. The luxury Cognac, a blend of up to 30 rare and very old eaux-de-vie made from 100% Grande Champagne Cognacs, will be introduced in key U.S. markets later this year, retailing at $200 a 750-ml. bottle. The appointment marks the second collaboration between Marnier-Lapostolle and Terlato, which began importing the French group’s Lapostolle wines from Chile and Château de Sancerre wines from the Loire Valley last year.
“We’re developing an excellent relationship with the Terlato family through our Lapostolle and Château de Sancerre partnership,” says Alexandra Marnier-Lapostolle, vice chairman of Marnier-Lapostolle. “Now we’re very pleased to open a new chapter, with Marnier Cognac.”
SND exclusively reported the opening of Terlato’s Artisan Spirits unit late last month. In addition to Marnier XO, the spirits portfolio currently includes Langley’s No. 8 Distilled London Gin and Tigre Blanc Vodka from France. Terlato says the unit will soon add a luxury aged rum, a single malt, single-cask Scotch range and a 100% blue agave Tequila.
