•Belgian brewer Duvel Moortgat has acquired Kansas City, Missouri-based Boulevard Brewing Co. and will add the craft brewer’s beers to its Duvel Moortgat USA stable. Financial details of the transaction were undisclosed. As part of the deal, Boulevard founder John McDonald will remain active as a board member and shareholder, and the Midwest brewer will continue to oversee its Ripple Glass recycling company. Duvel Moortgat has unveiled plans to significantly expand Boulevard’s brewing facilities, as well as extend the brand’s reach throughout the U.S. and Europe. Best known for its premium Duvel brand, Duvel Moortgat operates several Belgian breweries and also produces the Chouffe and Liefmans labels. In addition to Boulevard, the company’s U.S. holdings include a specialty beer import company and Cooperstown, New York’s Brewery Ommegang.
