Whisky Advocate Names Irish, Japanese and World Whiskies Of The Year

December 16, 2013

Whisky Advocate has recognized three standout drams as its Irish, Japanese and World Whiskies of the Year respectively. In the Irish category, Pernod Ricard’s Redbreast 21-year-old, a 46%-abv whiskey retailing at $180, took home honors. Among Japanese whiskies, Yoichi 1988 single cask, which is at 62%-abv and retails at $250, was named this year’s winner. And Taiwan’s Kavalan Solist ex Bourbon Cask, at 57.1%-abv and $110 a bottle, garnered the World Whisky of the Year award.

The winners from the 20th annual installment of the Whisky Advocate Awards are being unveiled one day at a time on the Whisky Advocate website, and will also be featured in the magazine’s upcoming Spring edition.
