Craft Brewing and Distilling News for December 19, 2013

December 19, 2013

•California brewer Stone Brewing is releasing its latest Enjoy By IPA to several markets on the East Coast in time for Valentine’s Day. Enjoy By 2.14.14 is heading to Stone Brewing venues in Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Virginia, the company announced via Twitter yesterday. Initially launched last fall, the “Enjoy By” program involves a special IPA release that is bottled, kegged, shipped and then immediately delivered within a seven-day timeline, with the beer’s expiration date prominently featured on the label.

•Delaware’s Dogfish Head will return to the Indiana market after signing a new contract with Indiana Beverage for distribution throughout the state. Dogfish Head withdrew from the state in early 2011—along with Tennessee, Wisconsin and Rhode Island—due to its inability to keep up with demand. However, earlier this month the brewery announced its re-entry into Wisconsin and Rhode Island, with plans to return to Tennessee as well. Dogfish expects its beers to be back on the shelves in Indiana by the end of the year and additional wholesalers in the state to be finalized in 2014.
