•Oregon’s Deschutes Brewery is said to be scouting locations for a major expansion project. While the brewer’s hometown of Bend is being considered, Deschutes founder Gary Fish revealed to the Bend Bulletin that the company is also open to other regions, including the East Coast. The project, which is estimated at around $50 million and will likely focus on growing Deschutes’ bottling and packaging capacities, will mark the brewer’s biggest expansion to date. The news follows Deschutes’ entry into several new markets, including Ohio and Kentucky this month. The brewer is also planning to enter Wisconsin and Michigan by the end of the year, which will bring its distribution footprint to 27 states.
