•This month, New York’s Coney Island Brewing Company will debut new packaging and two bottled beers, one new and one revamped. An original Coney Island product, Mermaid Pilsner, has been reworked and given a new look and will be available in six-packs in addition to on draft. Seas the Day India Pale Lager, meanwhile, is a new full-bodied brew with citrus and passion fruit aroma for an intense bite. The six packs of Mermaid Pilsner and Seas the Day IPL will be available throughout the metro New York area. Coney Island Brewing was acquired by Boston Beer-owned “craft beer incubator” Alchemy & Science last August.

•Sonoma’s Bear Republic Brewing Company is releasing the third addition to its hop-forward seasonal lineup, Apex Special IPA. Rolling out on draft and 22-oz. bottles, Apex will be available in California this week followed by other select U.S. markets. The 8.95%-abv American IPA uses Mosaic, Simcoe and Citra hops and American and English malts. In addition to its seasonal releases, Bear Republic is known for its flagship Racer 5 IPA.
