Kobrand Adds Alsace’s Prestigious Domaine Zind-Humbrecht To Portfolio
February 12, 2014Kobrand Corporation has won exclusive U.S. sales and marketing rights to the portfolio of France’s Domaine Zind-Humbrecht, one of Alsace’s most renowned producers. Effective February 1, the agreement will see Kobrand handle Zind-Humbrecht’s upscale stable, including approximately 30 SKUs, ranging from Pinot Blanc ($19) to Pinot Gris Rangen Sélection des Grains Nobles ($350).
Previously imported by The Sorting Table, based in Napa, Zind-Humbrecht counts the U.S. as one of its most important markets. It’s among Alsace’s most critically acclaimed wineries, having earned more than 30 scores of 95+ from Wine Spectator, including a rating of 100 points for its 2001 Pinot Gris Alsace Clos Windsbuhl Sélection des Grains Nobles (which was priced at $264 a 375-ml. on its release). The addition of Zind-Humbrecht marks Kobrand’s first play in the Alsace category.
