Beam’s Surging 2 Gingers Officially Launches Nationwide

Beam Inc.’s 2 Gingers Irish whiskey brand is officially expanding nationwide. The fast-growing label—which a year ago was still limited to select Midwest markets—will be available across all 50 states starting this month. The rollout will be supported by a launch tour led by brand founder and CEO Kieran Folliard, who plans to meet with bartenders, distributors and consumers in key U.S. markets, including Milwaukee, Chicago, Hoboken, New Orleans, Dallas, San Diego, Denver, Minneapolis, St. Louis, Indianapolis, Columbus, Ohio and Austin, Texas.

First launched in Minnesota in 2011, 2 Gingers is a twice-distilled, 4-year-old blended Irish whiskey, retailing at $19.99 a 750-ml. After selling more than 20,000 cases in its first 11 months on the market, the brand was acquired by Beam in 2012 for an undisclosed sum. Since then, 2 Gingers has expanded its reach, and emerged as one of the fastest-growing brands in the thriving Irish whiskey segment. According to Nielsen, dollar sales on the brand have risen 45% over the past 52 weeks.

Produced by Beam’s Kilbeggan Distilling Co., 2 Gingers is joined in the company’s Irish whiskey stable by the Kilbeggan, Connemara, Tyrconnell and Greenore brands. Kilbeggan too is seeing strong growth in the U.S. from a relatively small base, up 55% over the past 52 weeks.
