Craft Brewing and Distilling News for March 5, 2014

March 5, 2014

•Michigan’s Founders Brewing Co. is set to enter three new markets this spring. Starting in April, the craft brewer will expand into Oklahoma via Quality Beverage; Louisiana via Buquet Distributing, Schilling Distributing, Mockler Beverage, Southern Eagle Sales & Service, Champagne Beverage and Southwest Beverage; and Arkansas via Premium Brands of Northwest Arkansas, Coco Beverage and Golden Eagle. Initially, only Founders’ year-round and seasonal offerings will be available across the three states, both in bottle and on draft, with specialty releases to follow soon after. The addition of Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arkansas bring Founders Brewing’s total distribution footprint to 30 states.

•Denver, Colorado-based Epic Brewing Co. is planning a release of its beers in eco-friendly PakTech 12-ounce cans, starting with its Escape To Colorado IPA and Hop Syndrome Lager. The company is currently in the process of establishing a canning line at its brewery, which it expects to be operational by early this summer, in time to present Escape To Colorado and Hop Syndrome to national distribution in canned format for the outdoor season.
