•Anheuser-Busch will release Johnny Appleseed Hard Cider nationwide on April 7, marking the first entirely new brand the company has released in eight years. At 5.5%-abv, the cider is crafted in Baldwinsville, New York with apple juice sourced from apples in the U.S. and around the world along with cider yeast and other ingredients. Johnny Appleseed will be available in six- and 12-packs of 12-ounce glass bottles and individual 16-ounce and 25-ounce cans. Beginning summer, the cider will also be available on draught.

•Heineken USA is launching two new flavors for its global cider brand, Strongbow Gold Apple Hard Cider and Strongbow Honey & Apple Hard Cider, while phasing out the original recipe. The first will feature sweet and tart notes from Golden Delicious apples rather than overly sweet Fuji apples or tart Granny Smith, the company says. Both offerings are gluten-free and 5%-abv. Heineken will support the launch with media, digital, PR and experimental marketing, as well as extensive samplings. Heineken acquired Strongbow in January 2013.

•Folio Fine Wine Partners has appointed industry veteran Paolo Battegazzore as general manager, effective immediately, and has promoted marketing manager Brennan Anderson to director of marketing. Battegazzore, who has been with the company since 2005, replaces David Francke. Prior to joining Folio, he was general manager of Luce della Vite from 1998 to 2005, where he was responsible for marketing and leading brand development for the Frescobaldi family’s brands Luce della Vite, Lucente and Danzante. Anderson will be responsible for strategic marketing for the 23 brands within the Folio portfolio and will report to Battegazzore.
