April 3, 2014•Charlottesville, Virginia’s Starr Hill Brewery is introducing a new summer seasonal, Soul Shine Belgian-Style Pale Ale. The 5.2%-abv beer is produced with American hops—such as Falconer’s Flight, Cascade and Simcoe—and Belgian yeast. A social media campaign called “Let Your Soul Shine” will support the release. Soul Shine is available now in six-packs of 12-ounce bottles and kegs within the brewery’s 10-state distribution footprint through August, when it will be replaced by Starr Hill’s fall offering, Boxcarr Pumpkin Porter.
•Paso Robles, California-based Firestone Walker Brewing Company has released Easy Jack, the brewery’s latest seasonal IPA offering. The 4.5%-abv session IPA utilizes new hop varieties such as Germany’s Bavarian Mandarina and Hallertau Melon, a blend of New Zealand hops and Mosaic from the U.S. Available this spring and summer for $9.99 a six-pack, Easy Jack joins Union Jack, Double Jack and Wookey Jack in the brewery’s IPA lineup.
