•California-based Coronado Brewing is replacing its Hoppy Daze spring seasonal with returning entry Frog’s Breath IPA. Previously released under Coronado’s specialty Crown Series, the unfiltered, 6.5%-abv entry is made with Centennial, Columbus, Wakatu and Sorachi Ace hops and characterized by citrus and spice notes. Frog’s Breath IPA will be available through August across 15 states and Canada, both on- and off-premise.
•Stratford, Connecticut’s Two Roads Brewing Company has appointed craft beer distributor Massachusetts Beverage Alliance (MBA) as the sole distributor for its craft beers in the Bay State, effective April 28. Two Roads will work with the five distributors of MBA—Commercial Distributing, Colonial Wholesale Beverage, Burke Distributing, Merrimack Valley Distributing and Atlas Distributing, Inc.—for entry into the Massachusetts market. Last year, MBA saw sales rise 97% to 186,000 cases, including a 44% organic increase and more than 50,000 cases from new business. Earlier this year, MBA announced that it was adding Massachusetts-based Spencer Trappist Ale and San Diego’s Coronado Brewing to its portfolio.
•Escondido, California’s Stone Brewing Co. this week will release its latest craft offering in the Enjoy By series. Enjoy By 05.16.14 IPA is expected by tomorrow to reach its destination markets—Alabama, Northern California, Southern California, Oregon, Puerto Rico and South Carolina.
