Martin Wine Cellar To Rebuild Katrina-Damaged New Orleans Store

April 14, 2014

Martin Wine Cellar is rebuilding its Baronne Street store in the Uptown neighborhood of New Orleans, the retailer’s founding location which was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. The rebuilt venue, which will be 14,000 square feet and features an attached 120-seat deli, is slated to open later this year.

Martin Wine Cellar is owned by 2013 Market Watch Retailer of the Year Cedric Martin. The business was established on Baronne Street some 65 years ago by Cedric’s late father, David. Along with the Baronne Street location, the company also operates Louisiana stores in Metairie, Mandeville and Baton Rouge, as well as on Magazine Street in New Orleans. The company has revenues of more than $15 million, according to SND sister publication Market Watch.
