•Boston Beer’s Angry Orchard has launched The Muse, the latest entry in its specialty Cider House Collection. Inspired by slightly sweet Champagnes and sparkling wines, The Muse is made with a blend of apples from the Alto Adige region of Italy, as well as Normandy and Bretagne, France, and then aged on French oak staves. The 7.7%-abv offering will be available year-round in 750-ml. corked-caged bottles, priced at around $14.99-$17.99 each. The Muse joins Iceman and Strawman in Angry Orchard’s existing Cider House Collection.

•Munich, Germany’s Hacker-Pschorr Brewery has released the second offering in its limited series of small-batch beers, Sternweisse. Translating to “Wheat Star,” Sternweisse is an unfiltered, amber-hued wheat ale that will hit shelves in May. It follows Hacker-Pschorr’s initial small-batch entry, Hubertus Bock, in the limited-release series. Other Hacker-Pschorr offerings in the U.S. include Weisse, Weisse Dark, Munich Gold and Oktoberfest. Littleton, Colorado’s Paulaner HP USA imports Hacker-Pschorr, as well as Paulaner, Fuller’s, O’Hara’s, Früli and Dixie beers and Fuchen liqueur.

•Washington, D.C.-based One Eight Distilling is slated to make its debut this summer with the launch of a new craft spirits collection. The distillery’s initial offerings will include Rock Creek White Whiskey, Ivy City Gin and District Made Vodka, all of which are handcrafted using locally-sourced rye. The trio will be available both on- and off-premise throughout the city’s metro area. One Eight, which is named for Article One, Section Eight of the Constitution, bills itself as the second distillery to open in Washington, D.C. since Prohibition.

•Seven Points, Texas-based Cedar Creek Brewery is entering neighboring New Mexico this week. Favorite Brands, LLC, with an established presence in New Mexico, will handle the brand in the state. Cedar Creek’s The Lawn Ranger Cream Ale, Elliot’s Phoned Home Pale Ale and Scruffy’s Smoked Alt will be available in four-packs of 16 ounces in New Mexico. Dankosaurus IPA will be made available later this year.
