•Pottsville, Pennsylvania-based D.G. Yuengling & Sons, Inc. will enter the Rhode Island market this June through a partnership with C&C Distributors, Inc. The brewery’s flagship Traditional Lager as well as its Yuengling Light Lager and Black & Tan will be available in the state initially on draft, followed by package offerings. The move represents a return to Rhode Island for the company after it left in the 1990s because of supply limitations. It will be the 16th state in the brewery’s distribution footprint, with an expansion into Massachusetts announced earlier this year.
•Portland, Oregon-based Widmer Brothers Brewing is releasing two craft beers for summer, The Original American Hefeweizen and Citra Blonde Summer Brew. First brewed in 1986, the brewery’s Hefeweizen is 5% abv and will now be available year round. Citra Blonde Summer Brew is the brewery’s interpretation of a golden ale brewed with Citra hops and is sessionable at 4.4% abv. The summer brew will be available from now through August.
