•San Diego, California-based Green Flash Brewing Co. is gearing up to launch the latest beer in its Epic Journey series. A White IPA, the new brew will be available in limited release through June and July. At 7.0%-abv, the White IPA features Simcoe, Amarillo and El Dorado hops for a strong citrus character, the company says. Following that release, the Epic Journey series will be continued with Citra Session (4.5%-abv) in August and September, Cedar Plank (6.0%-abv) in October and November and Symposium IPA (7.0%-abv) available also in October and November. Green Flash currently distributes to almost all 50 states, with the exceptions of Utah and Hawaii.

•Vermont’s Long Trail Brewing Co. has added a new entry to its small-batch Brown Bag series, Berliner Weisse. The new offering is a 3.4%-abv ale that the company describes as highly sessionable with a light body and a very dry finish. Resurrected in 2012 (after being discontinued in the 1990s), Long Trail’s rotating Brown Bag Series has recently included an American IPA, Bavarian Smoked Brown, Maple Maibock and Lemon Pepper Kolsch, the last of which has now entered the brewer’s seasonal line-up under the name Ramble.

•Boston Beer’s Samuel Adams has released its Summer Ale seasonal in cans for the first time. Packaged in the brand’s recently-developed “Sam Can” packaging, the 12-ounce offering is available through July, priced at around $14.99-$17.99 a 12-pack. Sam Adams Summer Ale—billed as a 5.3%-abv Belgian witbier-style brew—will also continue to be available in its existing bottled format, as well as in the Samuel Adams Beers of Summer Variety Pack. This year, Summer Ale is joined in the Sam Adams lineup by Porch Rocker, a limited edition summer seasonal launched in May and also available through July.

•Clifton Park, New York-based Shmaltz Brewing Company has introduced Hops in He’brew Variety 12-pack for the summer season. Featured in the pack are Genesis Dry Hopped Session Ale (5.5%-abv), Hop Manna IPA (6.8%-abv), Bittersweet Lenny’s R.I.P.A. (10%-abv) and David’s Slingshot Hoppy American Lager (5.5%-abv), which is also available on draft this summer. The variety packs are available within the company’s 37-state distribution footprint.
