•Asheville, North Carolina’s Green Man Brewing Co. has inked a production deal with St. Louis-based contract brewer Brew Hub. Under the agreement, Brew Hub’s Lakeland, Florida facility will brew roughly 10,000 barrels annually for Green Man, producing the craft brewer’s core IPA, ESB and Porter, as well as its seasonal lineup. The deal will expand Green Man’s reach—which currently includes North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee—with immediate entry into Florida, and additional Southeastern states are slated to follow in 2015.
•Comstock, Michigan-based Bell’s Brewery has unveiled The Planet Series, a new limited edition lineup. Inspired by the music of composer Gustav Holst, the series will feature seven entries, including Mars, The Bringer Of War (Double IPA); Venus, The Bringer of Peace (Blonde Ale); Mercury, The Winged Messenger (Belgian Single); Jupiter, The Bringer of Jollity (Brown Ale); Saturn, The Bringer of Old Age (Bourbon Barrel-Aged Barleywine); Uranus, The Magician (Black Double IPA); and Neptune, The Mystic (Stout). Mars, the first Planet Series beer, will launch in August, with successive entries to follow every two months through July 2015.
