•West Palm Beach, Florida-based marketer Clever Imports, whose portfolio includes the ChocoVine and VineSmoothie brands, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, with about $3.9 million in unsecured claims. The company had sales of $5.5 million in 2013 and $2.6 million through June 25 of this year. Clever sources both ChocoVine—which reached half a million cases in 2011 amid a spurt in popularity for chocolate wines—and VineSmoothie from the Netherlands’ De Kuyper Royal Distillers, which also majority owns both brands.

•New York’s Old Nassau Imports has named Devin Wilson chief brand officer. Wilson, who most recently served as Old Nassau’s vice president of marketing, will be charged with leading overall brand strategy, creative direction and customer engagement, with a focus on the company’s flagship Double Cross vodka brand, a Slovakian import that’s in national distribution at $40 a 750-ml. bottle.
