•Utica, New York-based Saranac has launched Saranac Clouded Dream, the latest entry in its High Peaks Series. Billed as an “amplified” version of the brewer’s White IPA recipe, Clouded Dream features a blend of traditional Belgian brewing spices, including orange peel and coriander, as well as more citrus hop flavor. The 7.3%-abv expression is available in limited quantities both in four-packs and on draft. Targeted at craft beer aficionados, Saranac’s High Peaks Series is a collection of single-batch brews intended to offer “bigger, more complex” flavors.
•Raleigh, North Carolina’s Big Boss Brewing has expanded into several new markets in South Carolina, marking its first move outside its home state. The brewery’s lineup of craft beers will be available in Charleston, Columbia, Greenville and Rock Hill through a series of wholesaler agreements. The focus will be on distributing its Bad Penny Brown Ale, Hell’s Belle Belgian Ale, High Roller IPA as well as seasonals such as Harvest Time Pumpkin Ale and Aces & Ates Coffee Stout. Last year, Big Boss completed expansion of its fermentation and conditioning capabilities and in 2014 is working on its Bourbon, wine and Tequila barrel-aging program.
