•Chandler, Arizona’s SanTan Brewing Co. is releasing its Oktoberfest Lager in cans this fall. Brewed annually, Oktoberfest Lager was previously available only on tap at SanTan and select bars. The 5.5%-abv seasonal will be available in cans starting September 1, across Arizona, California and Texas. Meanwhile, SanTan has announced plans to release additional entries in cans, including the brewer’s specialty Vault Series, which is set to roll out in limited edition 16-ounce cans this winter.

•Portland, Maine-based Allagash Brewing Company is making its return to western and central New York state after leaving five years ago. The brewer has teamed up with TJ Sheehan and Tri-Valley Beverage, units of current New York metro partner Sheehan Family Companies, to reach an additional 31 counties statewide beginning this week. Sheehan Family Companies already distributes Allagash beers throughout New York City, Long Island and Albany. Allagash’s Belgian-inspired beers, such as flagship Allagash White, are currently found in 17 states and Washington D.C.

•Atlanta, Georgia’s SweetWater Brewing Company is entering the Mississippi market in early September following the brewery’s $19 million expansion. The company will work with A&B Distributing, Mitchell Distributing, F.E.B. Distributing and Capital City Beverage for distribution throughout the state. The brewery’s flagship 420 Extra Pale Ale, IPA, Blue and Take Two Pils will be available in bottles, cans, on draft and in Tackle Box variety 12-packs. The move will grow SweetWater’s presence in the southeastern U.S., where it is already in Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky, Louisiana, Virginia and D.C.

•Baltimore, Maryland-based Heavy Seas Beer is adding a seasonal 2014 edition of The Great’ER Pumpkin to its Uncharted Waters series. The limited release will be available in September and October throughout the brewery’s 18-state distribution network. Great’ER Pumpkin (10%-abv) is Bourbon-barrel aged and brewed with British crystal malt, brown sugar and pumpkin. Heavy Seas recently announced that it was increasing its production capacity by about 250% to 480 barrels a day with the installation of a new brewhouse, expected to be operational by September.
