Interview: Annette Alvarez-Peters Of Costco

Beverage alcohol accounted for $3.1 billion of Costco’s sales total of $102.9 billion in its fiscal 2013 (September 2012-August 2013), with all three sectors showing healthy growth. Wine is leading the charge at 50% of beverage alcohol sales, with spirits taking 30% and beer 20%. Treasury CEO Cites Debt, Regulatory Issues As Barriers To Deal

Following Treasury Wine Estates’ announcement yesterday that it had ended takeover talks with KKR and another suitor thought to be TPG Capital, Treasury CEO Michael Clarke noted on a conference call that, in addition to shareholder dismay at the A$5.20 ($4.54) a share price on offer, debt and regulatory issues impeded an agreement between the parties. Treasury Ends Acquisition Discussions After Shareholder Feedback
