Rising Zonin USA Taps Accolade NA’s Matz As GM, EVP
October 6, 2014Casa Vinicola Zonin S.p.A has named Timothy Matz as general manager and executive vice president of Zonin USA, overseeing the Italian company’s U.S. development. Matz’s career includes significant roles at Foster’s Wine Estates, Jackson Family Group, Foley Family Wines and Brown-Forman. Most recently, he was managing director of Accolade Wines North America.
Casa Vinicola Zonin S.p.A produced 42 million bottles in 2013. Over the last five years, its exports have more than quadrupled, now representing 75% of the company’s total sales of €154 million ($193m). The group earned Impact “Hot Brands” this year for both Zonin Winemaker’s Collection and Zonin Prosecco, which combine for about 550,000 cases in the U.S. market. Zonin USA had 2013 sales of $55 million, up from $5 million in 2006.
