•San Diego, California’s Green Flash Brewing Company has broken ground on the first stage of construction for a new 58,000-square-foot brewery, tasting room and beer garden in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The $20 million investment sits on a 9-acre lot located in Hampton Roads and will have a capacity of 100,000 barrels. The company expects construction to wrap up by 2016. Green Flash’s East Coast expansion comes in response to increased demand and will allow for easier access to the mid-Atlantic corridors, the company says. Green Flash expects to produce 65,000 barrels of beer in the San Diego brewery next year and will reach that site’s capacity of 100,000 barrels by the time of the Virginia Beach facility’s opening in 2016.
