SABMiller Revenues Up 5% In First Half, But U.S. Sales To Retailers Decline 2.5%

SABMiller posted a 5% revenue rise on 1% volume growth in the six months through September, driven by strong performances in Latin America and Africa, where revenues increased 9% and 8% respectively. That growth offset a 3% revenue decline in SABMiller’s Asia Pacific region, as well as a 2% decrease in Europe. The second-ranked global brewer’s North American operations were up 2% in terms of revenue for the half-year, despite dropping 2% by volume. MillerCoors’ U.S. sales to retailers were down 2.5% during the past six months, and 3.7% during the most recently completed quarter, as Miller Lite and Coors Light both fell by low single digits. On the upside, MillerCoors’ above-premium stable, including Redd’s, Miller Fortune, Smith & Forge Hard Cider and Leinenkugel’s, rose by high single digits.
