•Bend, Oregon-based Deschutes Brewery has entered Washington D.C. and the northern Virginia market via new partnerships with Reyes Beverage Group’s Premium Distributors of Washington, D.C. and Premium Distributors of Virginia, respectively. Deschutes will initially launch its year-round Black Butte Porter, Mirror Pond Pale Ale and Fresh Squeezed IPA exclusively on draft in both markets. Additionally, the brewer’s new spiced Saison label Zarabanda will be available in both 22-ounce bottles and on draft, alongside limited bottles and kegs of Reserve Series entries Mirror Mirror and Black Butte XXVI. Deschutes’ barrel-aged imperial stout The Abyss will join later in the year, with additional labels set to follow in 2015. Deschutes Brewery currently has a distribution footprint spanning 27 states.

•Portland, Maine’s Shipyard Brewing Company will release new winter seasonal, GingerBreadHead Ale, next month. Available through February, the full-bodied, 4.6%-abv craft offering is brewed with Caramunich and Chocolate malts and features notes of ginger, clove and cinnamon, the company says. It will be distributed in six-packs, 12-packs and on draft. Shipyard produces 20 varieties of craft beer and in 2013 was ranked the 14-largest craft brewery in the U.S. by the Brewers Association.

•Texas-based JEM Beverage Co. has added a trio of new craft spirits to its portfolio. Priced between $18.99-$22.99 a bottle, JEM’s Brazos Gin is a 40%-abv entry made with nine botanicals, including juniper, coriander, rosemary and cardamom, among others. Concurrently, JEM has expanded its Red River whiskey lineup with the launch of Red River Single Barrel ($39.99), a new super-premium label, and Red River Texas Bourbon Cream Liqueur ($29.99), a limited edition seasonal infused with pecan and vanilla flavors. JEM Beverage’s portfolio—which also includes the Southern Son vodka, Western Son vodka, South House moonshine and Stingray spiced rum brands—is currently available across Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Georgia, Tennessee, Arkansas, Nevada and Massachusetts.

•Eugene, Oregon’s Ninkasi Brewing Company is returning its winter lineup of two traditional dark styles of beer this month through December. Sleigh’r Dark Doüble Alt Ale (7.2% abv) a style brewed with ale yeast at colder lager temperatures, is rolling out on draft and in 12- and 22-ounce bottles. Imperiale Imperial Stout (9.1% abv), which is said to feature dark malt flavors with hop bitterness, is being distributed on draft and in 22-ounce bottles. Both seasonal offerings will be available throughout Ninkasi’s distribution network—which includes Oregon, Alaska, Arizona, California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Washington and Vancouver.
