October 21, 2014•Stone Brewing has released a new citrus- and chocolate-flavored variant of its Smoked Porter as a limited edition seasonal offering. Brewed with Magnum and Mt. Hood hops, the new brew saw orange peel added post-fermentation and gained cocoa flavors from dark malts and the addition of chocolate from Los Angeles-based producer ChocoVivo. Stone’s Smoked Porter with Chocolate and Orange Peel is 5.9% abv, and is rolling out in 22-ounce bottles and on draft this month throughout the brewery’s distribution territory.
•Chicago’s Goose Island Beer Co. is debuting its popular Bourbon County Brand Stout lineup for 2014 with a series of Black Friday events in key U.S. markets. Set to initially debut in Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Jacksonville, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, Phoenix and San Francisco on the Friday after Thanksgiving, this year’s Bourbon County Brand Stout range features five barrel-aged variants, including the original Stout, Coffee Stout, Barleywine, Vanilla Rye Stout and Proprietor’s Bourbon County Brand Stout. Each entry will be available nationwide, with the exception of the Proprietor’s Stout, which will be exclusive to Chicago.
