October 23, 2014•Upstate New York-based Ithaca Beer Company is releasing the second annual Box of Hops four-beer variety pack. This year’s 12-pack features a new red rye IPA called Rustic Harvest, which joins Dark Vine Black IPA and Creeker Double IPA, both brewed exclusively for the collection. Ithaca core brew Flower Power IPA rounds out the set. Box of Hops will be released in limited quantities to Northeastern states such as New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Jersey and Connecticut. Ithaca’s year-round offerings include Flower Power, Pale Ale, Nut Brown, Cascazilla and Apricot Wheat Ale.
•Los Angeles, California’s Golden Road Brewing is debuting a new seasonal beer, Gingerbread Stout, on draft and in newly designed four-packs of 16-ounce cans. The 8.5%-abv medium-bodied brew is made with ginger and a blend of spices for notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, candied orange peel and vanilla, the company says. The cans will be available at retailers such as Whole Foods, Costco, Trader Joe’s and BevMo!, among others. Golden Road’s year-round beers include Point the Way IPA, Golden Road Hefeweizen, Get Up Offa That Brown, 329 Lager and Wolf Among Weeds IPA.
