November 3, 2014•San Jose, California’s Gordon Biersch Brewing Co. has released WinterBock, a returning winter seasonal. Inspired by an 11th century recipe used by Bavarian monks, WinterBock is billed as a dark double bock made with Munich, pilsner, dark roasted caramel and black malts. The 7.5%-abv expression will be available this month through January, retailing for $8.99-$9.99 a six-pack. Along with WinterBock, Gordon Biersch’s seasonal portfolio includes its Maibock, SommerBrau and FestBier offerings.
•Irvine, California’s G.K. Skaggs has extended San Miguel Pale Pilsen with a new 22-ounce bottle format this month. The new San Miguel 22-ounce bottles are rolling out to on-premise, convenience and retail channels. In other company news, industry veteran Steve Goto has taken on the role of national account manager of beer at G.K. Skaggs. Goto previously served as national accounts manager for Karl Strauss and has also held various managerial roles at Straub Distributing and Kirin Brewery of America.
