November 17, 2014•Downington, Pennsylvania-based Victory Brewing Co. has partnered with Philadelphia’s Earth-Bread + Brewery to create Earth & Flame, a new collaborative offering. Rolling out on November 26, Earth & Flame is a billed as a holiday-inspired Bourbon barrel-aged Scotch ale, featuring notes of plum, gingerbread and toffee. The limited-edition, 11.7%-abv expression is packaged in a 750-ml. bottle and priced at around $15. Earth & Flame will be available at select retail outlets–including Whole Foods and Wegmans—across Victory Brewing’s 35-state footprint.
•Los Angeles, California’s Angel City Brewery is set to launch a limited edition sake-inspired ale named For the Sake of Ale. The brewery used traditional Japanese sake fermentation methods with sake-style rice and koji balanced with malted barley and hops for the creation of the 9.2%-abv beer. The end result features floral notes with flavors of pear and pineapple and a dry finish, the company says. Beginning November 20, For the Sake of Ale will be available in 22-ounce bottles and limited draft in Los Angeles.
