Georges Duboeuf’s Beaujolais Nouveau Festivities Return After One-Year Hiatus
November 21, 2014Georges Duboeuf’s renowned Beaujolais Nouveau celebration returned to the U.S. this week, following a one-year absence when the Beaujolais crop was largely wiped out by hailstorms. Franck Duboeuf and Peter Deutsch, CEO of Georges Duboeuf importer Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits, kicked off the festivities with a gala at Manhattan’s Tribeca Rooftop space on Wednesday night. “This year, we are blessed,” Franck Duboeuf told Wine Spectator. “Everything was in order to produce a great crop in terms of quality and quantity after two vintages of very low yields.” Roughly 100,000 cases of Duboeuf Nouveau are currently rolling out in the U.S. market.
