Luxco Acquires 50% Stake In Kentucky’s Limestone Branch Distillery

December 3, 2014

St. Louis-based spirits marketer Luxco has acquired a 50% stake in Lebanon, Kentucky’s Limestone Branch Distillery for an undisclosed sum. Led by seventh-generation Beam family members Stephen Beam and James Beam Jr., the distillery will be jointly operated by the current family owners and Luxco. As part of the joint venture, Luxco plans to begin distilling and aging its Yellowstone Bourbon brand—acquired in 1993—at Limestone Branch by early 2015.

Additionally, Limestone Branch plans to develop new offerings using Bourbon and rye mash bills, while continuing to produce its existing stable of white spirits, including MoonPie moonshine and T.J. Pottinger Sugar Shine, among other brands. Along with Yellowstone, Luxco’s spirits portfolio includes Pearl vodka and the Rebel Yell and Ezra Brooks Bourbon brands among numerous others.
