Brown-Forman Shuffles Execs, Names Hayes CMO

Brown-Forman has made a series of changes to its executive lineup, including the naming of John Hayes as its new senior vice president, chief marketing officer, a newly created role. Hayes, who was formerly global managing director, Jack Daniel’s brands, has been with the company since 1987. Prior to leading the Jack Daniel’s family, Hayes was managing director of the Tequila Herradura portfolio. Previously, Brown-Forman’s chief brands officer Lawson Whiting had been leading marketing efforts.

Concurrently, Brown-Forman has appointed company veteran Mark McCallum to executive vice president and president of Jack Daniel’s brands. McCallum joined Brown-Forman in 2003 as chief marketing officer for its spirits brands, and in 2006, he was promoted to chief brands officer. He later served as chief operating officer and most recently held the position of executive vice president and president for Europe/Africa, Asia-Pacific, and Travel Retail. Additionally, Brown-Forman has named Tim Nall as chief information officer. Nall was previously a director of technical services on the company’s global production team.
