Ste. Michelle Shipments Rise 5% In 2014

Ste. Michelle Wine Estates has posted a 5.6% increase in revenues to $643 million for calendar year 2014, as shipments rose 4.8% to 8.4 million cases. Core brands Chateau Ste. Michelle and 14 Hands continued to lead the way for the Washington-based winemaker, with shipments of Chateau Ste. Michelle jumping 10% to 3 million cases and 14 Hands rising 21% to 1.7 million cases.

Both those brands outpaced their yearly growth rates in the fourth quarter, when they saw respective shipment increases of 16% and 26%. Columbia Crest, which eked out a 0.1% volume gain to 1 million cases for the year, surged nearly 30% in the fourth quarter. The remainder of the Ste. Michelle Wine Estates portfolio combined for a 6.8% decline to 2.6 million cases in 2014.
