February 27, 2015

With Alexandre Ricard taking the helm as chairman and chief executive of Pernod Ricard earlier this month, the French drinks giant has announced a slate of other top executive appointments. Effective March 1, Conor McQuaid will become global business development director, a post that brings together teams from the marketing, commercial development and research divisions and reports to Alexandre Ricard. McQuaid is currently group marketing and commercial development director. On April 1, Peter Morehead, currently industrial director of Irish Distillers, will become group operations director, reporting to Gilles Bogaert, managing director, finances and operations.

Meanwhile, Pierre Coppéré, chairman and CEO of Pernod Ricard Asia, will become executive senior vice president in charge of growth initiatives, an 18-month position overseeing implementation of top line growth strategies and based in Hong Kong. Philippe Guettat, currently chairman and CEO of Martell Mumm Perrier-Jouët, will replace Coppéré as Pernod’s Asia chief, while César Giron will replace Guettat at the head of Martell Mumm Perrier-Jouët. Giron is currently chairman and CEO of the Pernod brand. In turn, Philippe Savinel, now chairman and CEO of Ricard, will retain his current responsibilities and also add those of Giron. The new appointments of Coppéré, Guettat, Giron and Savinel are effective July 1.
