•Montreal’s Glutenberg Brewery has expanded its U.S. footprint with recent entry into four new markets. Late last year, the craft brewer began distributing in New York, via partnerships with Union Beer, Craft Beer Guild of New York and T.J. Sheenan, as well as California, via Wine Warehouse. This year, Glutenberg has partnered with Clear River Beverage in Minnesota and Dickerson Distributors and Click Distributing in Washington, bringing its total U.S. reach to 16 states. Concurrent with the expansion, the brewery is planning to grow production from last year’s 10,000 barrels to 15,000 barrels for 2015, and Glutenberg has also announced it will bring its seasonal Série Gastronomie range stateside for the first time this year. Established in 2011, Glutenberg Brewery specializes in producing gluten-free beers.
•Portland, Oregon’s Portland Brewing has unveiled S.M.A.S.H. Pale Ale, a new summer seasonal. Billed as a single malt and single hop offering, S.M.A.S.H. is brewed with Goldpils Vienna malts and Simcoe hops. The brew will be available across Oregon and Washington through August 15, sold in six-packs, 22-ounce bottles and on draft. Along with S.M.A.S.H., Portland Brewing’s existing seasonal range includes Rose Hip Gold, Oregon Honey Beer, Noble Scot and BlackWatch Cream Porter.
